Minimalistic Commercial Project

Project Overview:

This commercial client was a brand new start-up company whose offices are in a downtown 100 year old building. The space is industrial with large ceilings and exposed brick. The company is a technical, data driven firm made up of millennials. Their desired aesthetic needed to be techy, hip, and minimalistic. Their color palette was black, white, grey, and denim blue.
Keeping the color palette in mind, the narrow entry was to be simple yet professional and welcoming for visitors and clients. Starting with a royal blue retro framed sofa, grey flannel chair, woodblock accent table, and a glossy black bar cart, the suitable entrance was achieved. The company’s name and logo, in its simple typeface, was hand-painted by the designer’s artist son. Each of the two conference rooms have unique tables, one of dark wood and black steel, the other of lighter wood and chrome. Black mesh chairs work with the darker table and white vinyl chairs for the lighter table. The passthrough hallway is a special treat with a 9×6 wallpaper mural of a colorful FM radio dial photograph and a blue woven cube bench. A white and black patterned rug defines this space. The large windows all received black mesh solar shades to control light.
