Elegant White Main Bath

Project Overview:

This main bathroom was outdated and lacked function. The look was nowhere near the caliber of this very large and nicely appointed home. Located over the garage, the floor was so cold space heaters and rugs were used almost constantly. The tub had an updated surround not long ago when the homeowners ran out of time to continue the work. As a result, the top with its Uba Tuba granite top needed to stay.

The client wanted a light, white, serene look and was open to wallpaper again! White cabinets were designed for the long, double vanity and the top mirrors and vanity area were encased in cabinetry/trim as well with minimum depth storage for toiletries. White and grey Cararra marble looking tile was used on the floor and all throughout the shower in large tiles for a calm but stately look. The floor is heated as is the shower floor! The tub granite had to not be ignored, so the designer was looking for a way to get the dark/black tones in the bathroom. It was decided the countertop would use suede Fantasy Brown granite with tones of grey/white/black, and brown to balance the tub. This granite was also used in the shower threshold for a niche shelf. Grey and white “peacock” wallpaper adds much interest to the walls. Lastly, cut glass lighting fixtures, rug runners in a classic pattern, large tub art, and a cornice with light neutrals and a touch of blue/grey embroidery complete the look.
