Prospect is located in Louisville, Kentucky with a population of 4,657. It is one of the wealthiest communities in Kentucky. Originally, the area was known as Sand Hill and was settled by farmers in the late 18th Century. However, its name changed to Prospect after the “Prospect” railroad station that was erected in 1872. Prospect was incorporated as a city in 1974.
