Anchorage is a city located in Jefferson County, Kentucky with a population of approximately 2,300. The land was first settled in 1773 after it was awarded to the Virginia militia after their service in the French and Indian War. The city is named in honor of James W. Goslee, a riverboat captain and prominent resident whose estate was named The Anchorage.
